Camp Circe. {cc}

Camp Circe. {cc}

Created in 2013 by fleetingfanfan.

"The sea has seen you safely to my arms. Rest here. Fear not. You are home." - Circe

Somewhere
Between sea and horizon,
There exists an island,
Home to a Witch Goddess,
And to many more Demi-Goddesses.

Aeaea, it's called,
A training ground- much more, a Haven for countless Daughters of the gods over centuries of mortal time.

Other such "Havens,"
Sullied by the sons of the gods,
Have seen ruin and end,
Have fallen once for every Daughter that has called Aeaea her home.
But Aeaea,
Eternal Aeaea,

Remains.

+ This group is based upon Rick Riordan's Percy Jackson books. +

WELCOME TO CAMP CIRCE!

NIGHT TERRORS

NIGHT TERRORS

ST CECELIA'S ACADEMY, affectionately referred to by alums as St C's, is a proud academy for girls in upstate New York. Boarding from ages 11 through to 18 as well as accepting day students, St Cecelia's is one of the top schools in the country, drawing everyone from future first ladies to the daughters of moguls, with a proud and storied history. Tradition, whether the administration likes it or not, is a massive part of attendance at St Cecelia's. Most cheer the numerous spectacles put on each year. Some enforce them. Some say it all goes to far and a school must always, at the end of the day, be a place for education.

This year, it may very well have gone too far.

THE OPRICHNIKI
Naming themselves on Ivan the Terrible's torture squad, who took out anyone disloyal to their tsar, after a particularly rousing Russian Lit class, no one can say when exactly the society was born. Legends say they've been around in some form or another since St Cecelia's was founded, but their recent history is far more extensive. They've developed elaborate rituals, and are obsessed with preserving St C traditions. To be an Oprichnik is to have sisters for life. Which is why those on the outside usually want in.

HOUSES
St Cecelia's operates on a house system; girls are sorted into their houses before their first year and stay with their houses through to graduation. Each house has a pin and ring with the house symbols for its graduates, bestowed in a traditional pre-graduation ceremony. House rivalries are common and often the girls of one house socialise with the other only when required.
The three traditional houses, though a fourth and fifth were once present, are Joliet, Bellerose, and Vauquelin.

HOUSEKEEPING
You can always contact @noceurs and @pommepadour with any concerns or inquiries. Unlike our girls, we are very nice. Really.

Rules:
There are two, to keep things simple.
1. Respect each other! Most everything typical about a group (save all that not on the runway not in the roleplay madness, you do you) applies but this is rule above all. Have fun. Make friends. Collaborate. That's what we're here for.
2. Write when you can, there are few deadlines for writing and events. We understand offline lives matter. Use who you want in your stories (but please make sure you're writing them correctly, take it up with their mastermind), read everyone's stories, you do you. However, this being said, if you aren't writing for months, don't be surprised if something happens to your character.

AUDITIONS
All characters are listed under their house.

To audition:
1. Make any sort of set you like but please put the model for your character in it somewhere. You're welcome to change their model, but we spent time creating characters for each girl so we would rather you didn't, Just saying.
2. Copy and paste the given bio, and feel free to expand it, with more bio, likes, dislikes, so on. This group is a little bit of a satire on the elite class of people who can send their teenagers to boarding schools with history, and one on what people seem to think teenage girls are, so feel free to be as ridiculous as you want.
3. Answer the following questions in character, from St Cecelia's entrance interviews:
- What is your top choice university?
- What do your parents do? Where do you come from?
- Who, of St Cecelia's famous Old Girls, is your greatest inspiration? (Your girl can use a fictional person, a real one you want to say attended this fictional school, a relative, or they can say they don't know anyone who attended)
- What is your best subject in school?
And finally, a question for them as a junior or senior at St C's:
- Where do your loyalties lie? Your house? Your friends? Your school? Or nowhere at all, even?
4. That's it. Of course extras like facts, stories, playlists, collections, moodboards, are welcome and much loved and could influence you getting your first choice, but they're not at all mandatory.

Flaunt Your Style

Flaunt Your Style

flaunt
/flônt/

Verb:
Display (something) flamboyantly, in order to provoke desire or admiration or to demonstrate defiance.

Synonyms:
display – show off – parade

Here at ‘Flaunt Your Style,’ you can show the Polyvore and fashion community what your true style is. Remembering, there is no other person like you and no person is identical in every like and dislike in their fashionable choices. Therefore, we strongly encourage that there is no copying of outfits to prevent arguments. We’re a friendly and close environment, this can’t be broken because ‘fashionistas’ must stick together, through thick and thin.

Everybody’s style is unique and the vital purpose of this group is to express your creativity and good eye for fashion to other style-goers.

"The only thing worse than being talked about is not being talked about."
- Oscar Wilde

It's alright to ask. We know you want to know who WE are...
Oh, wait. By now, you already know, don't you?

We are the privileged young adults that were born and raised in New York City's Upper East Side.

Some of us got to attend Verona University, the newest Ivy League nestled in the forests outside of the city,
but now we are making our way past our early twenties, spreading out across the island, but always, still, the talk of the town.

Here on the UES we have our very own blog on Perez Hilton's site—and it's run by me.
I'm one of you, except I have all the latest tabs on your favorite NYC socialites and It Girls and their every day lives—which means their every day scandals, dramas and secrets.
Their a dirty blend of old and new money—the Waldorf-DiVellos, the Carters, the Riveras, the Samuels—even families like the Schullers tried to leave and couldn't stay away.

But don't worry. If you're not a part of the inner circle, you can be seen with us once and I'll never leave you alone. You just become a #tag on my blog.

If you live in the city, you've taken up a sickness, you and your iPhone—keeping up with us and reporting our latest whereabouts to the website (or the Insta, or the app),
discussing the latest gossip with your friends. We've gone international, too. Whether it's royalty, the world's biggest boy band, or rubbing shoulders
with big names of Hollywood and the literary world—well, we can't really blame you for your obsession.

And who am I? Oh, darling, you will never know. I am the eyes and ears of this place.
I'm the one telling everyone what you did last night, what you're hiding, what your worst fear is—besides Yours Truly, of course.

Either way you know you are just dying to know more.
Who wouldn't? Guess you'll have to stick around like the rest of us.

xoxo

[The 3 Golden Rules]:

1. Read and COMMENT on every member's story and/or group-related set whenever possible. A friendly tip: don't post a new set/story without catching up.

2. Write whenever you want to, whenever you are inspired. Minimum of one story OR set comment a month or you are not considered an active member. Not too difficult!

3. No drama, please keep it fictional ;) Don't be passive-agressive—please manage issues through PMs and privately. Don't mention someone else's character unless you are responding to their story and you have discussed a collaboration with them.

p.s. If you have any concerns, please PM @ahlexandra

We are one of the most successful private writing groups (if not the most successful... :D) here on Polyvore
as we go into our 7th year as a tight-knit group, into the third "generation" of our characters as they go into postgraduate life.

I am very proud to say that {MMN} started with a bored 13-year old inspired by books and I hope that it continues on for as long as it can.

As of right now, we are not looking for new members. Please follow me if you wish to know if/when we have open auditions.

THE BOOK LOVER'S CHALLENGE

THE BOOK LOVER'S CHALLENGE

Created by @/karnstein on 8 January, 2016.

I decided to make this group because many of my polyfriends are book lovers, and I thought it would be a fun way to share recommendations. The idea is simple: create a set for each of the following categories, and have fun!

GUIDELINES:
i. This group is not time-sensitive. You can join whenever you like, start whenever you like, and take all the time you need with your sets.
ii. Feel free to deviate from the item list. Want to do the same one twice? Go ahead. Want to skip one? Sure thing. Want to make a collection instead of a set? Cool, sounds awesome.
iii. Feel free to PM me, @karnstein, with any ideas you may have for new items/categories. (Seriously, don't be shy!)
iv. Make any type of set you want! Art, doll, fashion... whatever floats you boat!
v. If we get enough members, I'd like to have weekly contests, but these are by no means mandatory!
vi. Read, work on the challenge however you'd like, and have fun!

THE CHALLENGE
(There's always a chance that more will be added, and I'll make an announcement if/when I do!)

1. A book that made me cry.
2. A book that I loved when I was a kid.
3. A book that made me laugh out loud.
4. A book that should be made into a movie.
5. A book that I wish more people would read.
6. A book that scared me silly.
7. A book I wish I could live in.
8. A book that I read over and over.
9. A romantic book.
10. An inspiring book.
11. A book that had a great ending.
12. A book that kept me in suspense.
13. A book I wish would have ended differently.
14. A book that I consider a guilty pleasure.
15. A character that I identify with.
16. A character I wish I were more like.
17. A character with a really cool ability.
18. A character who went through hell.
19. A character I love to hate.
20. A character I wish wouldn't have died.
21. A character that grew on me.
22. A couple that I loved instantly.
23. A couple that I wish would have gotten together.
24. A pretty book.

♫ RHYTHM IS GONNA GET YOU ♫

♫ RHYTHM IS GONNA GET YOU ♫

created by Summer on December 6th, 2015.

"Where words fail, music speaks."
― Hans Christian Andersen

"Why did July to us, Frank?"
― The World

This is a challenge group, everyone is welcome!

The Intro.
♫ When an artist creates an album there is always a story behind it or one that goes along with it. Everyone has at least one album that they listen to from track one to the final track with no interruptions. There are songs we enjoy more than others and some tracks we could do without, but that one album we can play from beginning to end has a purpose. Whether it's a personal connection to it or it's just something to jam to in your underwear (c. Risky Business), there is always that one album. Often times this album creates a story in your mind or paints a picture (if you're all about the cliché). Have you ever wanted to write this down or tap into this story? Maybe become part of the album? or even get into the artist's head and make the story tangible, this group is for you.

Track 1 // The Challenge
♫ Choose an album that you love.
♫ Research it a bit to see if there truly is a world of some kind attached to it that you like.
♫ Create the story basis for this album.
♫ Pick a main character (it can be the singer or someone they sing about repeatedly throughout the album or someone who doesn't even exist).
♫ Make a collection of moodboard or multiple sets or whatever you please to share the setting, characters, plot, etc.
♫ Make a set for each song and each song serves as a writing prompt/story to write for the whole story (each song is a chapter in the novel basically).

Track 2 // The Rules
♫ Models and acceptable actors only (just no Disney, Nick, Youtubers, or Sitemodels honestly. And don't use the singer, you can use someone to pose as the singer, but I'd like to see a little bit more creativity)
♫ Choose any album you'd like just no compilations, Greatest Hits, or soundtracks, please and preferably no EPs, but if you must then it's alright
♫ Again, any genre, any year, any language, any length I don't care. Anything from Odd Future to Elmo's Christmas Carols to La Femme to Johnny Cash to Aretha Franklin to Norah Jones to Lady GaGa, I do not care. Go crazy with the choice.
♫ One album at a time
♫ Try to pick something that people haven't picked yet. I mean I don't care if 2 or 3 people have chosen the same album, but I don't want to see 10 people doing the same album
♫ No requirement on sets per week etc. This is an ongoing thing and everyone can work at whatever pace they please.
♫ There will be weekly contests, but again, no deadlines or requirements
♫ Finished the album, start another one
♫ Finished the album, but still in to your story, try to transcend it into the artist's next album. Warning this will be difficult because often albums are so different, because of new experiences and what not and sometimes artists take huge a hiatus before releasing something else (an example of this would be like Sade or Dr. Dre who both took over a decade to release an album once)

Track 3 // The Form
♫ Just an initial form to get people set up with what's going on and what not.
_______

♫ Put this information in any form you'd like (set, collection, etc.)
♫ Add anything you'd like to it to help better develop your story, this is the most basic form

♪THE ALBUMS♪
(where all completed albums go)

♫Example♫
Here is my one of my NaNo collections, this story was basically based off of Kiss Land (The Weeknd)
http://tinyurl.com/z2jh85x
It had other elements and what not, but my basic idea was derived from Kiss Land.
If you've got a story collection that you've done based off of an album, message me and I'll add it.

Figments

Figments

"Every story has a beginning middle and an end but not necessarily in that order- Jean Luc -Godard"

A life is just a collection of stories all put together.
A beginning and end.
And than the interesting stuff that happens in between.

Every story is important so why not tell your story however you want.

The concept of this group is basically what if you didn't have to write a characters life in order. What if you started at 80 and your stories are just flashbacks and memories of how your character end up there. Or you started at 19 and then went to 45 back to 24. There is literally no order you have to follow , everything is up to you.

Group Rules:
- Firstly there is no set limit , i would say once a month at LEAST. I'd prefer more than that but i understand life and other groups get in the way.
- Stories are a must but liking/commenting other people's sets is what makes a group amazing.
- Don't join if you don't think you will be able to write for your character in the long run. It's nothing personal but how much does joining a group and then dropping out after a week suck.
- High fashion , No TXT talk etc is all a given right?
- Drama outside of the group is stupid. Don't cause it , don't get involved with just don't

Group Info
- Since it would be easier for other characters to have known each other atleast once the starting city for your character is Edinburgh , she (or he if you feel like it) could have lived there as a child or grew up there or studied there whatever. They don't have to be Scottish , just had to live there once in their life.
- Casting is a big deal in this group especially since you are writing about their entire life in a random sort of way. So the only models that are exclusive are character models , love interest (major super important love interests) and really REALLY important people (family , platonic soulmates - otherwise known as bestfriends , etc - just really important.).

Rules For Stories
- Only one rule. Since this roleplay is all over your characters timeline i ask that you include this format at the start of your story.
current location: city, country
date: dd/mm
age:

Audition Info:
- Well firstly do all the normal stuff.
eg. join the group (that would help) , make a set , fill in the bio etc.

You will have three different models for the character
- Teens - Early Twentys.
- Mid Twenties - Forties
- Forties+

You don't have to include a picture of all 3 models in your sets but feel free to if you want but please specify them in your set.

Included a short story. At least 4 paragraphs please.
